WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO JOIN THE BRC BOARD?
I am interested in helping people who have the greatest need, and over the 10+ years that I have been involved with BRC they have consistently demonstrated ethical, effective, and efficient work in trying to improve the lives of the people they serve.
IF BRC WERE TO DISAPPEAR TOMORROW, WHAT WOULD BE THE BIGGEST LOSS?
The end of BRC would be a tremendous loss for all of NYC. As the largest provider of homeless services, thousands of people would be displaced, wandering the streets without support. Connections of support would be lost and many may not be able to start over. The system of homeless services would become so overwhelmed with the by the loss of services. The voice of BRC as an innovative advocate for homeless people would be a tremendous loss not only for our city’s homeless but for our country’s homeless.
